Have you ever asked yourself any of these questions:

💬 What makes native speakers sound so...native?

💬 Why don't I sound natural when I talk?

💬 How can I become more advanced in English?

Was your answer YES?

Believe me, you are not alone!

✔️ You can study all of the grammar...

✔️ You can pass all of the English exams...

✔️ You can train your pronunciation...

...But still, you don't sound natural when you speak.

I have the answer for you:

IDIOMS

Idioms are the secret to natural-sounding English!

An idiom is an expression, word, or phrase that cannot be translated literally into your own language.

If you translate it, it will not have the same meaning.

Native speakers naturally understand idioms.

English learners find idioms extremely hard to use and understand.

Let me give you an example:

Take a look at this very common idiom:

It's not my cup of tea.

If you translate this into your own language it literally means that a specific cup of tea does not belong to you.

However, in English:

it's not my cup of tea = it's not what I like

If I say:

I won't go to the disco because it's not my cup of tea.

I really mean:

I won't go to the disco because it's not what I like.

Would you know how to respond if someone told you that they wanted to get to the bottom of something?

Would you know what to say if someone asked you to pull your socks up?

Would you know what someone meant if they told you to play your cards right?

No? Join the challenge to learn how to use these idioms and over 230 more!

Now, I have some terrible news, and some excellent news.

I think we'll start with the terrible news, to get it out of the way:

There is A HUGE NUMBER of idioms, and you have to learn them one by one. It can be a major barrier for English students.

Many students have no structure to their learning, and end up studying idioms inefficiently, in a boring way.

This means that they make little progress, and lose motivation.

Are you ready for the excellent news?

I absolutely love teaching idioms. I really do! I love teaching them in an easy and understandable way! And, when a teacher enjoys teaching, students learn more!
